This is so we can help them and learn about the services they need.<\/p><p>The information we collect includes people&#8217;s:<\/p><ul><li>name<\/li><li>age<\/li><li>address<\/li><li>phone number<\/li><\/ul><p>We also keep more sensitive information about, for example<\/p><ul><li>ethnic group<\/li><li>gender<\/li><li>religious beliefs<\/li><li>health<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Collecting information<\/strong><\/p><p>We get information about people when they, for example<\/p><ul><li>use a council service<\/li><li>are born, get married or die<\/li><li>use our website<\/li><li>apply for a job at the Council<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Your rights<\/strong><\/p><p>You can ask us to<\/p><ul><li>give you a copy of the information we keep about you<\/li><li>change information we have got wrong<\/li><li>stop using information<\/li><li>delete the information. We can&#8217;t always do this, but we will explain why<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>When we can keep information<\/strong><\/p><p>We keep information about people when, for example<\/p><ul><li>it helps the Council to do its work<\/li><li>the law says we must<\/li><li>it keeps someone safe, or protects people&#8217;s health<\/li><li>you have given us permission<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Using your personal information<\/strong><\/p><p>Here are some of the reasons why we need people&#8217;s information:<\/p><ul><li>to collect Council Tax<\/li><li>pay benefits<\/li><li>caring for and supporting people<\/li><li>to employ, train and manage staff<\/li><li>make sure we treat people fairly<\/li><li>to give you the correct services, products, help and guidance<\/li><li>to look after your health and safety<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Sharing your personal information<\/strong><\/p><p>Your information is shared between people who work for the Council.<\/p><p>Council staff can only see the information if they need it to do their job.<\/p><p>Sharing information means we can help you more easily.<\/p><p>We always follow the law when we share people&#8217;s information.<\/p><p><strong>Sharing information<\/strong><\/p><p>The Council shares information with health services, so we can work together to help you.<\/p><p>We follow strict rules about the information we can share, and who we share it with.<\/p><p>They must also follow the law when collecting, storing, or sharing information about you.<\/p><p>We may also have to share information if we think you are at serious risk of being harmed.<\/p><p>We sometimes have to share information with local groups or organisations that offer services you have asked for.<\/p><p>We may also share your personal data if the law says we need to for example if there is a court order or to prevent fraud or crime.<\/p><p>Some organisations may want to send you information about things they sell.
