person who has an interest in the arts and creative industries?<\/strong><\/p><p>We&#8217;re thrilled that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mif.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Manchester International Festival<\/a>\u00a0has asked Breakthrough to work with them to set up a Disabled Persons Engagement Group (DPEG).<\/p><p>The group will work on the Factory project, see link for further information\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mif.co.uk\/thefactory\/\">https:\/\/mif.co.uk\/thefactory\/<\/a>\u00a0.<\/p><p>This will be happening on the site of the former Granada TV studios in Manchester\u2019s new St John\u2019s neighbourhood.<\/p><p>The new group will start off working with the Factory project design team for four sessions.<\/p><p>The group will make recommendations on the design of barrier-free access and customer service, so that disabled people have the opportunity to be fully included in everything that the Factory has to offer to users and visitors.<\/p><p><img \/><\/p><p><strong>We need you!<\/strong><\/p><p>For the group to work we need up to 12 disabled people who would like to be involved as members.<\/p><p>Members will bring their lived experience of disabling barriers in society and preferably also have an interest in and experience of arts and creative industry, venues and activities. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Group meetings would start off as follows:<\/p><ul><li>Group Session One content: Introduction to the Factory, session on Finishes etc \u2013\u00a0<strong>Early June 2019<\/strong><\/li><li>Group Session Two content: Follow-up on Finishes \u2013\u00a0<strong>Early August 2019 (this date is to be confirmed depending on Festival commitments)<\/strong><\/li><li>Group SessionThree content: Public Realm \u2013\u00a0<strong>Early September 2019\u00a0<\/strong><\/li><li>Group Session Four content: Wayfinding \u2013\u00a0<strong>Dec 19\/Jan 20<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p>Sessions may take place during the working day or early evening, and will last for up to 3 hours in duration.<\/p><p>Members of the group will get a \u00a360 engagement fee plus travel expenses for each session attended.
