Breakthrough UK Ltd manages the Disabled People’s Engagement Group  (DPEG) on behalf of Factory International.

Who We Are

Factory International’s Disabled People’s Engagement (DPEG)  is an advisory body that brings together residents of Greater Manchester with a passion for the arts and with lived experience of disability.

DPEG  help to shape and inform Factory International’s (which includes Manchester International Festival and Aviva Studios’) approach to inclusive practice. The purpose of the group is to support the development of an inclusive and barrier free experience for everyone at Factory International and Aviva Studio’s through the perspectives of disabled people as experts by experience.

The DPEG was set up in 2019. Formerly, the group’s main  focus was  making the building at Aviva Studio’s accessible.  As the building is now complete, the DPEG role has now diversified to:

  • Programme – including creative representation.
  • Marketing – including audience development.
  • Visitor Experience – including building operations.
  • Impact – including industry and community collaboration.

In addition to attending four formal quarterly meetings a year, DPEG members contribute to additional opportunities such as site-visits.
