About Breakthrough UK

Breakthrough UK is an organisation of disabled people, working to promote the Rights, Responsibilities and Respect of disabled people in society.

We seek to influence public policy at national, regional and local level and we work with public bodies, businesses, employers, other community and voluntary organisations, social enterprises and individual disabled people to remove barriers to employment and participation in society by disabled people.

We provide services to disabled people to enable them to live independently and exercise choice and control in their lives. Our policies and working practices are based on the Social Model of Disability.

We offer excellent working conditions and terms of employment – such as flexible working, good holiday provision, regular supervision, peer support and an employee assistance programme. We ensure all our staff feel included and we remove barriers to work.

Breakthrough UK is an equal opportunities employer and particularly welcomes applications from disabled candidates. As a Disabled People’s Organisation, most of our Board Members and staff are disabled people.
