Lorraine Gradwell Memorial Lecture
On Friday 8th March, an Memorial Lecture was held in memory of our own Lorraine Gradwell, Breakthrough’s former Chief Executive and co-founder.
The event was organised between ourselves and our colleagues at the Greater Manchester Coalition of Disabled People (GMCDP).
The lecture included a film presentation by Dr Jenny Morris called Broken Promises: Looking back on ‘Improving Life Chances of Disabled People’.
In this film, Jenny Morris looked back at how the many promises in the Life Chances report never became a reality due to changes in both government and legislation.
